Hello, Peter, Miami Herald has opened up a registry for all the Pedro Pan children- I think anyone can view. Interestingly, when we go on the registry we seem to relate to one another as children. So many of us who went through that experience lost our best friends somewhere "out there" because people didn't talk about when or if they were leaving the country. One day your friend was there, the next your friend was gone. Many came to camps in Miami like Matecumbe and Homestead where they stayed until they were fostered. Some went to orphanages all over the country. Some families never reunited. Some Cuban children adopted by American families never knew they were Cuban- still don't! Many of us have found one another after almost fifty years of separation and resumed our friendships. I found my cousins after all these years. Andy Garcia the actor was a Pedro Pan. There's a huge reunion planned in Miami in November. CNBC is doing a documentary to be aired around that time.
Are you familiar with the Akashic records? I have always been fascinated by this unknown universe of ours... I have done past life regressions for a few psychotherapy clients through the years and have found the clients for whom they are appropriate heal quickly.

Hello Adrianne, I'm so glad this post resonated with you. That is an interesting story about the airlift, I seem to recall hearing about that. That's so cool you see your spirit visiting your old haunts. I agree with you-time as we see it is not the whole picture. From what I understand, the astal plane contains all impressions from the past as well as the present. In a very real sense, it is an archive of everything that humanity has experienced.

Hi Peter,
Very enjoyable read that touched me deeply for the simple reason that I cannot walk the streets of my childhood. I came here at age 14 in the Pedro Pan airlift from Cuba, alone, as did over fourteen thousand other children in a silent exodus that is getting a lot of press now because of its fifty year anniversary. I haven't worked my way to your astral projection blog yet, but I send out my spirit to visit the old house and the old street sometimes in my daydreams and night dreams. Of course, in my mind, all is how it was forty eight years ago. But what is time?...

Thanks Germaine-you assume correctly, I definitely fall into the Jung camp (although I concede that Freud had valuable points).

As a Rilke fan and a fan of Art, Artists and the compulsion to write in order to avoid Madness, I loved this, Peter and it echoed so profoundly with what I've been delving into this week on my Facebook page: 'How I Stay Sane' (hope you'll check it out). Just the whole thing about whether writing (Art) is a dysfunctional and pathological extension of narcissism (Freud's belief) or whether it is simply and complex-ly a necessity for a very sensitive, very intuitive individual who needs to make sense of human experience and share this sense-making with other human beings, thereby verbalising universal human experience (Jung).

I'm assuming, based on this entry, that you, like me, agree with Jung ;)

Carry on the good fight! Light, Love & Beauty - Germaine
